Road miles are measured on the driving network, not straight-line. Ranges are what the lane is paying this week for a standard operable sedan on open transport — an estimate to plan against, not a quote. Oversize, inoperable and enclosed price above these.

Eight of the twelve lanes paid more than last week, three came off and one held flat. Los Angeles was the clearest split: both long hauls running into LA eased — Houston to Los Angeles to $950–$1100 and Chicago to Los Angeles to $1100–$1200 — while the lane back out to New York firmed to $1500–$1700. Florida split the same way: Boston to Miami is this week's mover at $1100–$1300, while New York to Miami eased about 11% to $700–$950.

Per road mile — the only fair way to line a 693-mile lane up against a 2,752-mile one — Atlanta to Chicago is the strongest on the board at about $1.23 a mile, with Atlanta to Dallas behind it near $0.99. The coast-to-coast runs sit around $0.57, which is why they work best as part of a full load rather than as a single unit. Practically: if you have cars waiting at a Northeast auction, New York to Miami is the cheaper move this week; anything moving out of Atlanta is where carriers are being paid most per mile, so budget accordingly.
