Road miles are measured on the driving network, not straight-line. Ranges are what the lane is paying this week for a standard operable sedan on open transport — an estimate to plan against, not a quote. Oversize, inoperable and enclosed price above these.

Five of the twelve lanes came down this week, four held flat, and three moved up — Los Angeles to New York, New York to Miami and Atlanta to Chicago. Those three point in three different directions, so read it as lane-by-lane truck supply rather than a market turning.

Watch cost per mile, not sticker price. Atlanta to Chicago is the dearest lane on the board at roughly $1.00 to $1.25 a mile over 693 road miles, and it is one of the three that rose. Los Angeles to New York carries the biggest number on the sheet and still works out near $0.51 to $0.58 a mile. Short lanes always cost more per mile; right now the spread is wide enough that two short regional moves are worth pricing against one longer run. Every range here is a market range, not a quote.
