Road miles are measured on the driving network, not straight-line. Ranges are what the lane is paying this week for a standard operable sedan on open transport — an estimate to plan against, not a quote. Oversize, inoperable and enclosed price above these.

Fewer cars were posted than last week, and rates mostly eased: six lanes paid less, two paid more and four held. After five weeks of widening, the Florida split narrowed a little. Boston to Miami slipped to $1400–$1600 and New York to Miami to $1200–$1350, both a step off last week’s records, while Chicago to Tampa held at its record $1100–$1200. On the way back out, Miami to Chicago held at $600–$750, its first week without a drop after five straight declines. The two Miami lanes are still the busiest on the board.

Two lanes printed their lowest rates in any report: Los Angeles to New York at $1400–$1500 and Atlanta to Chicago at $500–$600. Seattle to Los Angeles gave back last week’s jump, down 13% to $900–$1100, and Chicago to Los Angeles was the strongest gainer, up 9% to $1200–$1300. Per road mile, Atlanta to Dallas leads at about $1.08 a mile over 787 miles, ending New York to Miami’s four-week run; Houston to Los Angeles is thinnest at about $0.49 over 1,536. If you have units waiting in Los Angeles for the East Coast, this is a cheap week to send them.
